Free Entrance to US National Parks – Three More Dates in 2014
I wrote about this offer in April but thought it was worth another mention now that summer is upon us.
On several dates in 2014, the entrance fee for US National Parks is waived. There are three upcoming dates with still plenty of time to plan to plan for – August 25, September 27, and November 11.
For planning inspiration, Smarter Travel wrote about 10 national parks you never knew existed. However, the US has 401 national parks so there are many, many more options to consider!
The National Park Service website provides a park-finder tool. Many places I never would have thought to be “national parks” indeed are – Alcatraz Island just one example.
Note that many of the country’s national parks offer free entrance year-round, so this offer is just an extra perk with regard to parks that normally charge a fee.
